SocialBro Cloud is very similar to the desktop versions (Chrome and Adobe Air). The main difference and advantage is that all the information, history and users are stored on our servers, so you never have to worry about saving this data. Not to mention that you can access it from any computer!

Chrome app

Adobe Air version

If you select the desktop version, you will need to have Adobe Air installed on your computer. If you don’t have the program installed, no problem, just click on Download to install Adobe Air before downloading SocialBro. On the other hand, if you have the program installed, you will see the options: Uninstall, Run Now and Cancel the process. Click on Run Now.

Once installed, SocialBro appears as an application on your computer.

We would however like to advise you that due to a bug from Adobe Air (which has caused users to loose their data) we will no longer be supporting this version after the 28th February. We therefore suggest that all users wishing to use a free version of SocialBro choose the Chrome version as this will ensure that all of your data is safe from being lost.

How to filter using the calendar

Your SocialBro dashboard presents you with information about your Twitter community compared to the last synchronisation. There may however be a time when you want to see something about your community from last week or last month for example:

To see how many followers/unfollows you received when evaluating the success of a campaign
When you have been away on a holiday and need to check the activity of your Twitter community during that time
When you have very busy days and are unable to reply to users that mention and retweet you in real time. You will have to look back and make sure you do not loose track of those people you should be connecting with.

This can be done using the calendar.

1. On the dashboard select which part of your community you wish to see, as an example we will use “new followers”, click on the title or select from the left navigation menu.

2. If you look in the top right corner of the search results you will see it says “last update”. If you click on it a calendar will open where you can filter your results based on date.

3. You can either click on a date or use the drop down box to select an option:

4. Your search results will now be filtered according to date. You can also use the filters on the left to filter using another criteria e.g. location.

How to export your account history from the free version to SocialBro Pro

SocialBro allows you to export your entire account history from the free desktop versions (for Chrome and Adobe Air) to the Pro web-app! To do this, in your free dashboard click “Go Pro”, in the right hand corner of the top navigation bar.

You can create a Pro account, if you don’t have one yet, or sign in to the Pro account to which you want to export your data. SocialBro will copy your entire history from the free to the Pro cloud version: all your Twitter accounts, sources, tags, notes, etc.

If you already have a Pro account, don’t worry about losing the information you have in it. When you export the old data, both histories will be merged together after the following sync.

Before selecting a Pro plan you should decide if you want to upgrade with all the data you have in your free account. You may want to eliminate some Twitter accounts and sources in order to be able to pick a cheaper Pro package ;-)

How to customize your Insights Report

SocialBro lets you get detailed stats about any segment you’d like to know about in-depth, both within your contacts or in all Twitter. Knowing the characteristics of a specific segment of your community and also of your market is very powerful information.

How to find influential people on SocialBro

SocialBro uses Kred and the Peerindex Score to determine the influence of Twitter users. First, choose between either Kred or the PeerIndex score. Go to Settings, in the top navigation bar, click on the General tab and select the influence metric you prefer.

Kred, which is a measurement of social influence in online communities connected by interests, provides reliable and accurate information about how influential your contacts are. You can discover influencers very easily and focus on engaging with those you consider worthwhile.

If you’re a user of SocialBro Pro you’ll find a new panel on your dashboard where you can see your Kred score by Influence and Outreach.

As Kred explains, “Influence is the ability to inspire action. It is scored on a 1,000 point scale. We measure Influence by assessing how frequently you are retweeted, replied, mentioned and followed on Twitter”, whilst “Outreach reflects generosity in engaging with others and helping them spread their message. Since we believe that the capacity generosity is infinite, your Outreach score is cumulative and always increases. As of June 2012 the highest Outreach Level anyone has reached is 12, and we expect that higher levels will certainly be achieved in the future. We measure Outreach on Twitter by your retweets, replies and mentions of others.”

The PeerIndex Score measures online social interactions to determine your impact in social media and beyond. You can Find the evolution of your PeerIndex Score underneath your Kred panel on your Dashboard.

You can order your community by the influence score by clicking on “Influence” in the interface footer and so you can discover the most influential people in your community.

Each profile has the Kred icon under the avatar, which shows the Influence and Outreach of this Twitter account.

You can filter your contacts using the Influence filter to visualize, for example, only those with a score higher than 500. You can also filter your lists and search Twitter for influential people within your market by combining any of the filters found in SocialBro.

How to track your engagements on Twitter with SocialBro

Very often we interact with so many people on Twitter, through mentions and retweets, that in many cases we lose track of these interactions. In other cases a particular profile sounds familiar to us but we’re not sure if we’ve previously made contact with this person or not.

These are very typical situations in social networks, so we’ve created a tool that helps you track all your engagements on Twitter. Find the Latest Interactions tool on your SocialBro Pro dashboard (this feature is exclusive for our Pro users).

When you click on the above icon a panel with three tabs opens up on the left of the screen. You can visualize all your interaction tweets, the tweets of those who have mentioned you and also those who you have mentioned in your tweets.

Notice that those who you have engaged with have a blue “@” in the bottom right-hand corner of the user box.

So when you click on it you’ll see all the interactions between you and this user.

There are two panels on the dashboard called “My influencers” and “I influence”. “My influencers” are the people who have influenced you, when you mention or retweet their tweets. Whilst the users who have mentioned you or retweeted your content appear in the “I influence” panel. As are all the panels on the Pro dashboard, these two new panels are automatically updated, so you can track your interactions on a daily basis.

When you browse each panel, notice that there is a filter at the top of the dashboard, which allows you to modify the time frame of the filter. So, apart from having the information based on the last update of your account you can also filter from the last 2, 3, 5, 7, 15 or 30 days. A tip here is to use this new filter in order to keep tabs on your influencers.

There are some busy and buzzy days that make it impossible to follow or to reply in real-time to all the people who mention or retweet you. So, this filter together with the engagement panels helps you look back through your timeline in order to not lose track of those people who you would like to connect with.

Best Time to Tweet: get multiple reports if you're a Pro user

If you are one of our users of SocialBro Pro (web-app) you can take great advantage of the Best Time to Tweet report, which is one of our highlight features. Apply the Best Time to Tweet to a custom sample of users and get the report for any search, list, 3rd party Twitter account, etc.

The main difference between the Pro and the free version is that with your Pro account you can request multiple reports, while in the desktop apps you can only have one report per Twitter account at a time.

Follow the steps below to see how to generate a report for a custom sample of users:

Choose the sample of users that you’d like to know when are online: members of a list, members of a search, your competitor’s followers, etc.
When you have these users on your SocialBro screen, click on the arrowhead on the bottom navigation bar, then click the option “BTTT for this criteria”.

You’ll see a list of the reports you have requested, being able to access them whenever you want. In this list you can visualize the criteria of each report. For example, the last report of the image below was generated based on our friends (the people we follow) who have “marketing” in their bios and have more than 1,000 followers, filtered by English.

How to best use SocialBro for HootSuite

SocialBro is one of the apps integrated in the awesome HootSuite App Directory! You can have the main information of your SocialBro dashboard within HootSuite dash. This provides a practical and powerful solution for managing your community on a daily basis with two essential Social Media tools in just one dashboard.

To have your SocialBro account in the HootSuite dashboard you must have a Pro SocialBro account. As HootSuite is a web-based app, only users of SocialBro Cloud can enjoy this integration. Want to become a Pro SocialBro user? Try our 15 day free trial.

Step by step

To install SocialBro to your HootSuite dashboard, go to the HootSuite App Directory and find SocialBro there.

Press Install App. You’ll need to authenticate and connect with the same username and password you use to login to SocialBro Pro.

The dashboard

The first thing you’ll see is almost the same dashboard that you have on dashboard.socialbro.com. The synchronization in SocialBro Pro is automatic, so you’ll have the same data you have on dashboard.socialbro.com on the SocialBro for HootSuite dashboard.

We recommend you select the one stream view (one column) option to see a wider dashboard.

You can select the Twitter account you want to be logged in with using the left drop-down menu:

Search and filter your community

The SocialBro app for HootSuite allows you to filter and search both within your community and in all Twitter. You can also search in the sources you have added to your SocialBro Pro account.

To start searching in SocialBro for HootSuite, click on the Search icon you’ll find in the top right corner. Then select which account or source you want to search in.

If you want to search in your own Twitter accounts you can do this in: your community, your followers and friends, the reciprocal follows, followers not reciprocated by you, friends who don’t reciprocate, new followers and friends, and recent unfollows.

If the search is in a competitor’s account, you can search through all its community, its friends or followers, the common followers or friends, and its followers or friends not followed by you. You can do the same with Twitter lists and hashtags you’ve added to your SocialBro Pro dashboard.

To see the dashboard of each source, as you do in SocialBro, just click on the Dashboard icon next to the Search icon, after selecting the source.

SocialBro for HootSuite offers some filters to let you refine your searches through the app. After selecting the source you want to search in, click on the Filter icon to see all filters and search options.

You can filter by language, time zone, number of followers and friends, followers/friends ratio, date since last tweet, tweets per day and influence score. The location and bio fields admit the advanced syntax, if you want to combine your searches in different ways.

For example, you want to find your followers from Barcelona, Madrid and London that have in their bio both Social Media and Marketing. Just write in the location field: barcelona+madrid+london (without spaces). Then, in the bio field, write: “social media”+marketing. A powerful tool!

As you do in your SocialBro dashboard, you can order the users by number of followers, friends, tweets, tweets per day, date last tweet and influence. Tip: to hide the filter panel, just click the Filter icon again.

How to upgrade my SocialBro Pro plan?

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan directly from the app.

1) Just click on the Settings icon, in the top navigation bar.

2) Select the Plan tab, then click on Change Plan.

3) Select the plan that works best for you (if you upgrade or downgrade you will be reimbursed the proportion of the remaining time of the month and charged the new plan from this date forward).

Important: If you use one of the free versions of SocialBro for Desktop (for Chrome and Adobe Air) and want to upgrade to SocialBro Pro, have a look at all Pro plans we have.

Use the Google Chrome address bar to search in SocialBro

How to Get the “Best Time to Tweet” for a Custom Sample of Users

If you are one of our users of SocialBro Pro (web-app) you can take great advantage of the Best Time to Tweet report, which is one of our highlight features. Apply the Best Time to Tweet to a custom sample of users and get the report for any search, list, 3rd party Twitter account, etc.

Follow the steps below to see how to create a report for a custom sample of users:

1. Choose the sample of users that you’d like to know when are online: members of a list, members of a search, your competitor’s followers, etc.

4. You will then be taken to your “Best Time to Tweet Reports” section which will display all of your past reports. When your report has been generated you can view it by selecting “View report”.

SocialBro automatically updates your report for you every seven days and you can access it from the Toolbar on your dashboard.

5. You can then see all of the stats and information available for a general BTTT report

6. Through the Toolbar you can see a list of the reports you have requested, being able to access them whenever you want. In this list you can visualize the criteria of each report.
