05. Sources

What is a source?

“Source” is a important concept in SocialBro. Like we saw before, SocialBro lets you manage, explore and analyze your Twitter account. However, many times, knowing all about your account is not enough and for this SocialBro lets you more sources.

There are four types of sources: a Twitter Account, a List, a .txt File or a Twitter search. In the same way with your account, you will be able to manage and analyze any of these sources. To add a source just click on the sources menu, then click on “Add new Source”.

Once we have clicked on the button the next dialogue will appear. In it we will select the type of source that we want to add

Twitter Account: To analyze any other Twitter account. Ideal for spy competitors

Twitter Search: If we want to manage and analyze all the people who are tweeting about a hashtag or any term on Twitter, this is the perfect type of source. Ideal for hashtag monitoring and to find new customers.

Twitter Lists: We can add any public list of Twitter or one of your lists.

.txt File: With this source we can upload a .txt file and save, manage and analyze all the users . Example for 4 users:

user1

user2

user3

user 4

Search All Twitter* : There is a “fixed source” call fixed source that lets you search and filter on a database of more than 20M active, localized and non spammer users of Twitter. Ideal if we want to find new customers.

When we click on the source all the Twitter Users* sorted by the number of followers. So don’t afraid if you see @ladygaga or @justinbieber. SocialBro is not suggesting them to follow is just the list is sorted by the number of followers. Filter and Search on the database is your task.

IMPORTANT: Always that you are browsing any source on SocialBro you must remember that the “relation icon” is related to the account you are logged in.

In the next posts we will see what we can do with every source.
