Knowing where your competitor’s community is located can be useful to help you discover new markets and can help with targeting.
To find out this information, you have to add their Twitter account as a source via the “tools” section on the top navigation bar.
Enter the Twitter handle of your competitor (you could also analyze clients’ communities etc.) After adding the account, SocialBro will synchronize it. Synchronization can take some time, you can continue using your account as usual and wait for the completion notification or you can opt in to receive an email once the process is complete.
Once the synchronization is complete you can access the source account from the left navigation bar or the home page then select “community insights” from the tools section on the top navigation bar.
As you know SocialBro lets you filter the statistics by followers, people they are following or both. By scrolling down you’ll see the community of the twitter account displayed on a map.
You can hold your cursor over any part of the map to see the number of followers from this country as we have done with Canada above. You can click a particular country to display all of the users from this location.
From here you can browse through the users and choose to follow some (if you wish), add them to a list to monitor them, add a tag to them etc.
We have now also introduced Location TagClouds which also allow you to select a country of your choice and see the profiles belonging to the followers from this country and perform the functions mentioned above.
Ultimately Geolocating your competitor’s community is really useful to help you study your competitors and make decisions about targeting and your social media strategy.
